Weekend Thoughts

Few thoughts on the  first  weekend of October 2017:

  1. At last  India is hosting a FIFA tournament, ie under 17 World Cup. India being a host country automatically gets qualification to participate in this world cup, otherwise it would not have been possible for India to participate in this world cup. India’s standing is very dismal and in FIFA’s ranking they are much below 100 in all age groups. The following countries are  participating  Group A-India , USA, Colombia and Ghana, Group B-Paraguay, Mali, New Zealand, and Turkey  Group C-Iran, Guinea,Germany and Costa Rica, Group D- North Korea, Niger, Brazil and Spain, Group E-Honduras,Japan, New Caledonia and France & Group F-Iraq, Morraco, Chile and England. You will notice from the above list that you may not even heard about some small countries but still they have qualified. The venues approved by FIFA are stadiums in Kolkata, New Delhi, Kochi, Navi Mumbai, Guwahati and Margao(Goa). Soccer or Football is the most popular sport in the world and is followed and played in more than 150 countries in the world. The hosting of this world cup in our country is definitely going to boost the popularity of Football and I hope that in near future we improve our rankings and get qualified in FIFA  tournaments. You will be surprised to know that in our team 8 players are from Manipur, a tiny state with population of 25 lakhs in North East part of the country.
  2. Yesterday I wrote about that to score Brownie points against BJP, the Congress ruled state should abolish the State VAT on petrol. But instead of Congress it is BJP ruled states which are gearing up for reducing the State VAT on petrol by few Rupees per litre. Let us see what happens next.
  3. There was unprecedented backing to Raj Thackrey’s morcha against Railway’s apathy towards Mumbai local trains problems, after the stampeded accident last Friday on Eliphinstone Road Station. The protest march which happened yesterday drew crowds from lower and middle class Marathi speaking people of Mumbai city. Where Raj Thackrey said that Railways should come out with solutions the various infrastructural problems at Railway Stations and he further added that unless this is done volunteers from his party will not allow to start any work relating to Bullet train in Maharashtra. In this issue Raj and his party has definitely scored the brownie points over Udhav Thackrey and Shiv Sena. There was one news item in press that the BJP heaved a sigh of relief as Raj steals march over Udhav. BJP feels that constant bickerings with Sena is the main woe of Fadnavis govt, governance is becoming difficult as Sena takes exception to what BJP do. BJP spoke person further added that we would be very happy  if Raj’s party MNS gears up in two years to cut Sena to size.. Let us see what happens in future.
  4. This item is about celebrity ie Shah Rukh Khan- Today’s newspaper carried an item that Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)has demolished an illegal covered area, on the terrace adjoining SRK’s production office in Malad west , Mumbai, which was being operated as Canteen. BMC spoke person said that the terrace need to remain open to sky but SRK’s team have changed into usable area, which is violation of FSI rules and Fire Safety norms. BMC had earlier issued a notice about the irregularity about the covered terrace and asked SRK’s office to demolish, in response to this notice SRK approached the court but failed to get any relief, therefore BMC demolished the structure. There are numerous incidents when celebrity flouts the rules and then want courts to regularise the same, which used to happen earlier some times but not now.

In the end what you say my friends.

Awaiting for your feed backs and comments.

Not only SRK but many other celebrities flout BMC rules without any action. It is a rare case when unauthorised construction is actually demolished.
