Few days back, Amit Shah ,the BJP President, said in one of his speeches that Mahatma Gandhi was a ” Clever Bania”. There was strong reaction from the Congress party regarding his statement, and they insisted that Amit Shah should apologise for making this statement. Amit Shah responded by saying that what ever he has said is a truth, as Gandhi was a clever person and he belonged to Bania community. Technically he was correct, but I do not understand why the Congressmen took it so badly.
I wish to make a few comments
- Congress can say any thing about other party leaders in a derogatory manner, the classic example is Congress President Sonia Gandhi calling Narendra Modi ” Maut Ka Saudagar”. If this remark is good then what is wrong with Clever Bania. Congress feels they can do no wrong, as if they are ” Doodh ke Dhule”.
- Have the Congress for Last 50 years(from the days when Indira became PM) followed any of the principles which was advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.
- It seems that congress men follows and obey what other pseudo Gandhis say. Like Mahatma Gandhi always advocated non violence(Ahinsa), but the congress men followed/obeyed the one sentence of Rajiv Gandhi and butchered thousands of Sikhs in 1984. This practice of following leader’s word started from the days of Indira and Sanjay Gandhi, followed by Rajiv Gandhi, then Sonia Gandhi and now Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi. Have the present top leaders of Congress know any thing about principles of Gandhi.They only know Gandhi was father of Nation and his photo is there on all the currency notes.
- Gandhi wanted to disband Congress party after gaining independence by stating that Congress basic function was to gain independence for the country and not to rule the country. But Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to en cash Congress’s name for garnering votes. This is still repeated by present congressmen, and they have audacity to say to all the opposition political parties about what was other parties contribution in the independence movement.
- I want to ask one question to all the congress men, if you think you are so great,then why your party is suffering so much and losing elections after elections. The actual truth is that you have forgotten the principles/teachings of Gandhi, and indulged in communal politics, corruption and policies which were anti poor and anti farmers.They always talk of intolerance, but congress men are the most intolerant people in the world as they can not tolerate any criticism of Gandhi and pseudo Gandhis. They forget that even Mahatma Gandhi was a mortal man and was not a god, even he had committed so many mistakes, and if some one says about Gandhi’s mistakes now, he should have all the liberty to express himself and congressmen should have patience to listen to them and then react meaningfully.
Congressmen, please wake up from your deep slumber and start listening to the voice of people, and do not blindly follow these pseudo Gandhis.

We need to understand that leaders whether dead or alive are human beings and not god’s and anything as long it’s not derogatory can be said about them. I remember the two girls in New Bombay arrested for making comments on Thackeray’ s funeral!

I think the girls were from Palgarh and they commented why their city is being closed for Bal Thackrey’s funeral. The statement was not derogatory.

First of all Pheroz Gaundy is the proper name since he was a Parcy. Gaundy surname is the right name as far as I have read. Hence it seems for whatever reasons, Indiraji coolly changed her name to Gandhi, is a fact. There is no relationship between Gaundy and Gandhi.
Mahatma Gandhi had clearly advised Nehru to change the name the party from Congress as it is a group of people who join together for a cause, can’t be a name of party. This simple sence of reality is not followed by the party bosses for the selfish reason of taking advantage of the name for retaining the power. This proves that Mahatma Gandhi was not a member of this Congress party after Independence of India and the present Congress party has anything to do with Mahatmaji. Hence any comments on Mahatmaji has no relationship of of this party to be proud off or otherwise. As the Nation has accepted Mahatma Gandhi as the father of the Nation, no particular attachment has any right for this party. What Mahatmaji did is only for the Independence of India and nothing to gain any browni points for the party. I feel this argument should keep the Congress Party away from the good work, what Mahatmaji did for the country. Congress party should not claim the rewards of what Mahatmaji did for the country. Everybody has a right of expression which should not be forgotten by the Congress Party.

That was my precise point. Why Congress is so attached to Gandhi name, it is only for selfish reason. It is known fact that Feroze surname was not Gandhi, it was Gandhy or Gaundy. That’s why I have mentioned that these pseudo Gandhi’s in my post.
