Friends, if you are reader of Times of India, you might have seen the article by Ms Sagarika Ghose title ” Delhi Doesn’t Know Best”. I would like to brief you on this article and mind set of pseudo secular and Pro Congress Media persons.
- She starts the article by commenting on the proposal of Election Commission (EC) and Central Govt about holding elections to Lok Sabha and State Assembly simultaneously, she admits that there are many benefits of simultaneous elections and in the first four General Elections in 1952, 1957, 1962 and 1967 , both the polls for Lok Sabha and Assembly were held together in one go. But she further adds that when assertive regional parties, leaders and sentiments dominate, it is not a good idea to hold election simultaneously. I do not under stand her logic- is she is trying to say that if the Elections are held together then BJP will get an edge over Congress because Modi’s magic may bring additional votes for BJP in assemblies. But this logic is not always correct, as during strongest Modi wave BJP lost Bihar, Delhi and Punjab Assembly elections, and Jawaharlal Nehru at his peak in 1957 lost Kerala Assembly election. It has been proven factually that BJP’s Chief Ministers are not pygmies of their Top leadership or PM, same was in the case of Nehru , then why Congress is afraid of simultaneous elections.
- Second thing she is talking about regional aspirations- But who brought regionalism into picture, it was Congress and their central leadership(High Command) namely Indira Gandhi who killed the regional leaders of Congress , when she started installing CM of her choice in the Congress Ruled states against the wishes of MLAs and local leaders. I can name many CMs of Maharashtra who were made CMs by High Command namely AR Antulay, Shivajirao Patil Nilegekar, Bhosle, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ashok Chavan, Prithiraj Chavan and may be few more. This action of Congress High Command really killed State’s stalwarts hope of leading the state, and they started quitting the Congress Party.
- She, in her article further mentioned that,- as BJP is ruling in 18 states with Modi as their PM, quote”An attempt to create a single elections riding on national wave , centred around single national leader and single set of national priorities will fatally over ride the regional differences.” Unquote. I want to ask her in the Congress hay days they also had only top leaders like Nehru and Indira Gandhi around whom Congress’s elections campaign were built for both Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections, then why grouse now when the rival party has got a Pan India leader. Did Congress ever listen to regional aspirations, if they had that culture now they would have formed Govt in Manipur and Goa during last assembly elections to those states. Their leaders who were overseeing the elections were waiting for the instructions from High Command, if the regional leaders had the authority then they would have formed the govt, but Congress High Command buggered the things even after they were the single largest Party after the results.
- The she talks about GST- she mentions that at least in implementing GST state leadership were consulted. She forgets that GST was such a big tax reform where states were going to be affected, they had to be consulted and their suggestions to be taken for considerations. Then she is asking why states were not consulted before demonitisation. I pity her intelligence- she should realise that Demonitisation is such a step in economy that its secrecy is the most important thing or she along with her husband could not convert their un accounted wealth.
- Through out the article she kept on harping Regional aspirations and let me ask which are the regional leaders whose aspiration she is talking about. Congress does not have any single regional leader as most of them have left the party. Regional leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, are well established in their state despite Modi wave. Other Regional leaders like Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh Yadav and Mayavati – their parties lost miserably in last UP election which was held after 3 years of Lok Sabha Elections. In Tamilnadu it is either DMK or Anna DMK. Who are other Re
- One thing she has forgotten to mention that when she talks about Regional aspiration- actually it is the personal aspirations of all the regional leaders, which is the basic cause of fall in the Indian polity. Can she answer what was the development of Bihar in 20 years rule of Laloo Prasad- it was only Laloo and his family who prospered and state went to doom. Same was the case of UP, what was the development during the rules of Mulayam/Akhilesh/Mayawati for almost last 3 decades. Only these Regional leaders and their cronies/families became richer.
So friends this is one more step by Congress and their pseudo secular media persons to spread misinformation about holding simultaneous Elections.
Awaiting for your feed backs and comments.

Congis are worried about their own future and the sold out are trying to loot them by such articles, showing their concerns. Only money power can’t do anything, when the public is aware of the unchallengeable leadership of Honourable Modiji. Impact of writing an article in olden days and today has vast difference, which she might have overlooked due to selfish goal to make money. Things are going to take place as per the Government decisions and not by the whims of few selfish guys.
