So friends, this a week of festival, from tomorrow  Diwali festival will officially start with Dhan Teras  and will continue till Saturday on Bhau Beej day.  In the  last three days few interesting developments took place, which I am briefly describing below:

1. Still mystery remains ” who killed Arushi “. In the trial court Arushi’s parents Nupur and Rajesh Talwar were convicted for the murder of their daughter and servant Hemraj  and  sent to jail, but last week they were acquitted by Alahabad HC on technical grounds for the lack of evidence and were set free.  The HC put the blame on CBI for not conducting the investigations properly and also for producing improper evidences. HC also slammed the doctor who conducted post mortem on Arushi and Hemraj  for introducing the sexual intercourse angle for the motive of double murder without an iota of evidence. Dr Naresh Raj openly admitted in the court that he was carried away by CBI’s theory of sexual act and hence testified accordingly. The Dr further stated that as per investigating officer of CBI, Rajesh must have seen them in the act and hence both of them were murdered. Dr Raj’s wife Richa who is a pathologist had originally checked the slides of Arushi’s swab, was earlier accused of siding with Talwar’s. Her repport of Arushi’s vaginal swabs also created a controversy as it stated that it had DNA of two women, and one of them was Arushi and other was unknown person. But when CBI sent the same swab slides to Hyderabad for DNA finger printing, and that report said that the vaginal swab  could not be of natural daughter of Talwars. So it means the slides were swapped. The court also refuted  CBI’s  contention that Talwars were awake that night as their internet router was on. The HC stated that mere assumption that they were awake as router was on does not hold good as CBI failed to produce any proof of internet being used  in the night. These were the few observations made by HC which went in favour of Talwars and they were given benefit of doubt and were set free. CBI when they took over the investigations had made a statement that Police botched up the investigations at the earlier stages and thereby lots of evidence was destroyed. The fact of the matter is in a house there were 4 people present on that night and 2 are murdered and  other 2 are acquitted by Court then WHO KILLED ARUSHI & HEMRAJ. This mystery will always remain a mystery.
2. On to some local news- Last week 6 Corporators of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) left the party and joined Shiv Sena. What was reaction of MNS’s Chief Raj Thackrey , he  alleged that Udhav Thackrey Shiv Sena Chief paid Rs 5 crores to each corporator. And next day he put up a poster in front of Sena Bhavan (HQ of Shiv Sena) which was in Marathi, loosely translated it said ” When situation takes your test, your will power becomes stronger”, in the next line addressing to his cousin Udhav Thackrey the Sena Chief the poster said” if you have asked I would have given you all my 7 corporators, only eunuch steal.”
3. Lets us turn to sports- India beat their arch rival Pakistan 3-1 in Asia Cup Hockey League match. Our present Hockey team is consistently beating Pakistan and is on revival mode. Let us hope for the best for next World Cup and Olympics. The second sport news worth mentioning is -36 years old Roger Federer (World No.2) beating  31 years old Rafael Nadal( World No. 1) in Shanghai open Tennis tournament yesterday. It looks like as he is growing older Roger is playing much better tennis in comparison to last few years, this may be because he took rest for almost 6 months during last year and rejuvenated himself, and this year he came back strongly. This is the only year he met Rafael Nadal 4 times and he won all the matches. A compared to other top players over the years he kept himself injury free and after every few years he reinvents himself. Definitely he should be ranked among the best players in the world and should be considered as first among the equals.
4. News is that Rajiv Gandhi may become the President of the Congress Party any time during this month. Will it mean the end for the old guards of Congress. Friends if you have observed that in the media there are more stories about Congress revival, which is hard to believe. Their future President is making some bizarre statements on daily basis, and I do not think people have become fool overnight as they can not see thru his statements. More on this story later.
